Opioid Use Disorder Services
North Georgia OPEN has gathered fact-based, helpful information about the prevention, education, treatment, and recovery of people struggling with opioid use disorder.
Prevention
It’s never too early to start educating people on tools to prevent opioid use disorder. You should open a healthy line of communication with your child or loved one conducive to making good decisions. It’s also important to know the risks of developing opioid use disorder.
Education
Even if you or someone you know is not directly affected by opioid use disorder, you never know how much you could impact a life, or even save a life, by educating yourself on the facts, signs and symptoms, misconceptions, and ways to mitigate harm surrounding opioids.
Treatment
Making the decision to get treatment for an opioid use disorder is a big step in the right direction. Whether you’ve decided to help yourself, or you know someone going through opioid use disorder treatment, it’s important to gain all the knowledge you can about treatment options and ways to support a person in treatment.
Recovery
The overall goal of recovery is to not misuse opioids any longer, but the path to total recovery looks different for each person going through the process. Understand how to support someone in recovery and learn how to live in recovery with the right guidance and support so opioid use disorder stays where it needs to be – behind you.
